Artist Bio:

Joanne Eng is a painter/graphic designer from Honolulu, whose work explores the space between abstraction and representation through acrylic and mixed media. Her process reflects an emotional ambiguity toward domestic and everyday spaces, using intuitive mark-making, vibrant color, and collage to abstract everyday, familial environments. Dealing with themes such as material consumption and home life, she transforms these scenes into dynamic, layered compositions, highlighting the emotional weight of material and memory. Eng earned her BFA in Painting from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in 2025 and currently resides in Honolulu, Hawaii.
